About ZEUUX
Why it is named ZEUUX? And what is the meaning of it?
ZEUUX Free Software Community firstly had English name, then took Chinese translation.
On May 2006, Bill Xu created a new English word, zeuux, which would be the name of a soon established Free Software community. In the process of thinkging the name, two points of view should be considered, one is aspiration and the other is reality. Our goal is to inherit and promote Free Software, which is a tough bone but the meaningful job. Furthermore I believe for the lack of ability everyone has a plain and simple dream that we all desire powerful capabilities knowing and doing everything to realize our ambitions. On the other hand, reality is that the name as website domain name must have not been registered.
Combining above thoughs, we first took use of Zeus in Greek Lengend as the base, removed "s" and appent "ux" to be a new word zeuux. And translate zeuux to philosophy thinking in Chinese meaning in order to represent its value.
Thus, the connotation and sense of ZEUUX emphasize developing self-awareness and improving the real world.

In usual, ZEUUX presents ZEUUX Free Software Community. Meanwhile, the core software project of ZEUUX is named ZEUUX System, thus while talking about this project, ZEUUX is equal to ZEUUX System.

Why we take use of XHTML/CSS as our documents' universal format?
Before building ZEUUX CVS repository, we carefully considered that which document file format we should use. Concerning abou this, we should think following points of view:
- Which places would the documents be displayed? It should include terminal of computer, WWW, printer and so on.
- What is the existing technology to achieve above functions? There are Tex, Texinfo, SGML and so on.
- Which file format are the document developers in the future easy to pick up.
Following above factors, we determined that XHTML/CSS is the base docs file format. We delayed to display our documents under computer terminal and left this professional jobs to the editors of the press before publishing and printing our documents. Our focuse is on the users browsing WWW.
